About PREAM

There are places in life we pass through, and then there are places that stay with us forever. Our school is one of those places. No matter how far we go, our roots remain here!

PREAM was created to reconnect hearts that once shared the same classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and dreams. Though years may have passed and paths may have changed, the memories built here continue to unite us across cities, countries, and generations.

We believe that an alumni network is more than a directory of past students. It is a family built on shared experiences, gratitude and pride.

PREAM was the beginning of a shared vision. What began as a simple gathering of former students on a quiet afternoon, soon became a historic milestone in the journey of our alumni community.  At the heart of this initiative were the founder members Sr. Leena Varghese, Ms. Sumitra Venugopal, and Ms. Priya VM (1983 batch), who formed the core committee and played a pivotal role in bringing together alumni across generations with a shared purpose and vision.

In September 2023, the committee officially adopted the name PREAM for the alumni association, symbolizing affection, unity, and the enduring bond shared among the students of the institution.

The formation of PREAM was not merely the creation of an association — it was the rekindling of friendships and memories, supporting meaningful initiatives, and contributing positively to society.

And this journey has only just begun.

Our History

Established in year 1973, what started as a humble nursery school has today grown into a proud legacy of learning and excellence. In 1974, the school expanded its academic journey by introducing Classes I and II under the name Presentation Central School, marking the beginning of a new chapter in its commitment towards quality education and holistic development.

A significant milestone in the institution’s history was achieved in 1983, when the first batch of students appeared for the board examinations and secured a remarkable 100% pass result. Adding further glory to this achievement, the school also produced an All-India Rank Holder Ms. Mary Cherian, who secured the 14th rank at the national level; a proud moment that reflected the institution’s academic excellence and dedication towards nurturing young minds

Initially, the school followed the CBSE curriculum; but in 1989, the institution transitioned to the State syllabus in order to better align with the educational requirements and opportunities of the region. With this significant transformation, the school was also renamed as Presentation High School.

Over the years, the school has witnessed generations of students grow into professionals, leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, teachers, actors, singers and changemakers across the world.

Behind this remarkable journey stands the unwavering dedication of our teachers who have guided, inspired, and shaped generations with patience, wisdom, and care. Their commitment has been the foundation of the school’s growth and achievements.

The story of our school cannot be told without remembering the Head Mistresses and Principals who guided it through different eras with wisdom and dedication. Their leadership helped shape the institution and they acted as mentors, guides, and pillars of inspiration for students, teachers, and the entire school community. As an alumni community, we proudly honour and remember the contributions of every Principal who has been part of our school’s remarkable journey.

Today, our institution proudly celebrates 43 successful batches of students who continue to carry the values and spirit of the school into different walks of life across the world. No matter how far life takes us, hearing the name of our school still brings a smile, a flood of memories, and a feeling that words can never fully explain. The classrooms that once echoed with laughter, nervous exam discussions, morning prayers, and playful conversations continue to live on in our hearts long after we leave.

And long after the final bell rang, this school continues to live within every one of us...

Valuable Feedbacks

I was only at PHS for Classes One and Two, so it would be dishonest of me to pretend that I am as emotionally attached to the school as some others. But where the alumni association has changed my life is in allowing me to reconnect with former classmates and even teachers with whom I had lost touch more than three decades earlier - and that really is priceless. Some of them, I had known in high school and in college, but then real life gets in the way and takes you all in different directions. Through the alumni, we have been able to reconnect and exchange old stories, including heated debates about who actually won a lemon-and-spoon race back in 1981. As you get older, you realise that these are the things that matter, and for that - for having had the chance to reconnect - I am truly grateful.

I am honestly very thankful to be a part of this alumni group. Especially for someone like me, who is living away from home, this group feels like a little piece of home away from home. This group has helped me to not only reconnect with some old but good friends but also given me some new amazing friendships as well. Though I miss the in person meetings and get-togethers, always feel extremely happu seeing the happu faces in our groups. The effort that the team puts to make a plan live is worth appreciating and actually we could do a bts which would be as fun as the real events. Huge thanks to everyone behind this for creating such a happy and welcoming space for all.

I am Chikki S Pookat, from the batch of 1990. I am a proud Presentationite and a PREAM member. From my LKG days all the way to 10th standard, Presentation High School was my second home — the place where I grew, laughed, learned, and formed bonds that would last a lifetime. Those beautiful years shaped my heart and character in ways I can never fully express. Even after 35 years, my eyes still fill with emotion remembering the caring teachers, non teaching staff who felt like family, the friendships on the playground, and the values of discipline, compassion, and excellence that became part of me. Presentation didn’t just educate me — it raised me and gave me roots I carry with pride wherever I go. The alumni association PREAM, formed during the school’s 50th year celebration, came as a beautiful reminder that it’s better late than never. It has helped me reconnect warmly with the school and so many dear schoolmates. Through PREAM, I am happy to be part of events — offering career guidance to the students, scholarships to deserving students , providing medical assistance to retired non-teaching staff, and supporting social projects like helping orphanages and old age homes. Behind the scenes, so many alumni are quietly working to bring pride to our school and benefit to society. As a PREAM member, my heart swells seeing our alumni stay connected and give back to the school that gave us so much. Thank you to all the dedicated teachers, the sisters, and the non-teaching staff for shaping our lives — you will forever hold a special place in my heart.
